Recipe for Perfect Cupcakes with Filling
Ready to try making filled cupcakes at home? Here’s a simple recipe to get you started:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- Various fillings (e.g., lemon curd, chocolate ganache, strawberry jam)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with cupcake liners.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually add to the butter mixture, alternating with the buttermilk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture.
- Fill each cupcake liner 2/3 full with batter and bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool completely.
- Once the cupcakes are cool, use a small knife to cut a cone-shaped piece out of the center of each cupcake. Fill with your chosen filling, then replace the top of the cone (you may need to trim it to fit).
- Frost and decorate as desired.
